Wonderful Christmas Gifts for Women – Jewelries

The most exciting moment that everybody looks forward to about Christmas is gift-giving time. It is also an important time for people to express their love and care to their friends and family by exchanging gifts. For women, if they receive jewelries from their friends or family on Christmas Day, they will feel rather delighted and appreciate the gift givers’ care very much. Here are some reasons why jewelries are wonderful Christmas gifts for women.

Diamonds or other valuable natural stones can carry values for a long time with proper maintenance. Women would like to treat them as a symbol of eternal love. If on Christmas day, the most important holiday of a year, you received such valuable jewelries from your lover, you could believe in his firm love to you.

Jewelries are wonderful fashion accessories which can go well with a lot of different outfit and, at the same, can add charm and elegance to women. For some important events, such as an evening party, ceremony or social gathering, sparkling jewelries can look noble and mature. People can also tell your personality and social status from what you wear.

For the gift givers, they will feel satisfied when the lady would appreciate and cherish the gift. As for the receivers, they will feel proud when they show off the jewelries and get envious feedback. For both of them, what they will treasure forever is their love to each other.

Any kind of jewelries including earrings, necklaces, bracelets, and rings can be your ideal options. Or you can directly buy a jewelry box which contains all these adorable pieces. No matter what kind of jewelries you finally decide to buy, she will appreciate your love very much.

Yellow Gold is So Last Year – Men’s White Gold Rings Are All the Rage

White gold is produced when gold is alloyed with white metals like nickel or palladium. The purity of gold is measured in karats like the normal gold. The characteristics of white gold depend on the proportions of the metals used and their properties. When yellow gold is alloyed with nickel, the resulting white gold acquires the properties of nickel which is strong and hard. It is mostly used to make pins and rings. And when the yellow gold is alloyed with palladium then the resulting gold acquires the properties of palladium which is pliable and soft making it a better choice for setting gemstones.

Gold is used widely in making jewelry and ornaments ranging from rings, bracelets, chains etc. The men’s white gold rings are very rare and come in traditional designs. Most of the men’s rings are designed in yellow gold. But with good design and trendy models to white gold rings have picked up popularity. They are usually used in engagements and weddings. They are also available in combination’s with various birthstones. The yellow gold rings may be impressive but the rings have now come out to simplicity, sleekness and elegance. With broad and heavy designs and sturdy gems the rings are no longer a fashion for women but men too.

One must however be very careful in selecting the gems for the white gold rings, be it for women or if you are trying to buy the men’s white gold rings. The gems should match with the color and give a strong and contrasting look. Black, blue sapphires and green gemstones are the most demanded gemstones on white gold. The rings range from various models like flat wedding bands, sleeve rings, solitaire rings, trinity rings, cluster rings, eternity rings etc. an eternity ring usually symbolizes eternity with a partner, a promise ring is usually worn to remind oneself of the promises one has made, the engagement rings are worn to indicate that the person is engaged, a class ring is usually worn by the graduates of a class, a mothers ring is worn by mothers with the birthstone of each of her child. In this way the ring models come with huge significance and varieties.

The men’s gold rings are the preferred choice by women as the best gifts for their men. They could be gifted on valentines day, fathers day, graduation day, engagement day, marriage etc. but one must consider the style preference of the men being gifted. The ring that you like may not be liked by the man you selected for. So you must make note of the mans style and lifestyle. If a simple man is gifted a very stylish ring then it would not look much like a perfect gift. It is always wise that you see the simplicity and fashion tastes of the men. Gold reflects great simplicity and at the same time a contemporary style too.

How To Be Sure Your Great-Grandchildren’s Children Care

What will you practice today? Will your great-grandchildren’s children care?

When I began this leadership work many years ago, my focus was a bit different versus today. You could say, quite rightly, I have evolved my thinking.

However, well before I found myself immersed in The Five Practices of Exemplary Leadership© and what’s been created since, the foundation was set with seven key principles. I thought I would share those with you today and let you kick them around and, hopefully, respond with your thoughts.

Principle #1: Leaders focus on themselves. Sounds kind of selfish, yes? But hold on a minute. If you are not working on your personal growth, how the heck can you be a leadership role model for others?

Principle #2: Leaders simplify their lives. In today’s fast-paced, multi-tasking world, exasperation is staring at you in the next Tweet, text or email that demands your immediate attention and action. Have you cleared your desk lately? Deleted those emails that have stacked up since email was invented? Tossed files (please recycle)? Clearing the desk really does clear the mind.

Principle #3: Leaders establish priorities for themselves. Keep in mind, that there is no great value in getting things done, if they are not valuable to do. Have you separated yourself from what is least important in your life yet? If not, why not?

Principle #4: Leaders define their destinations. Do you know where you’re going? Do you need a personal GPS (Goal Performance Strategy) guide? Take some time to stretch out and create a personal vision and some stretch goals for the several areas in your life: Personal, Family, Professional, Financial, etc. Jot down just a few ideas in each category, reflect on them a bit and then get busy adding action steps to help you reach those outcomes. New Year’s Day is not the only time to make resolutions.

Principle #5: Leaders plan their time based on importance. All of my coaching clients have heard my suggestion that they take some L.E.A.D time each day. Listen to yourself with a 10 to 15-minute planning/re-planning session; Evaluate how you are doing in each area of your life; and Adjust what needs reconsidering. Finally, Determine, once again, if the destination you set is still correct.

Principle #6: Leaders nurture their creative genius. Are you aware of your creative genius? Or, are you just stomping through each day hoping to make it back home in one piece? Ugh! Every person is a creator. You have created your life to this point. Happy? Yes? No? What are you going to do about it? Robert Fritz, an author/colleague from years ago told me, “The creative process is alive. It is improvisation. And it is one of the most powerful and intimate involvements with one’s life I know.”

Principle #7: Leaders don’t arrive, they evolve. You’ve probably heard something like that before. It’s very true. There is no end point with leadership. It takes constant practice and is a continuing saga. And, keep in mind, depending on your life story, the memory of you takes a while to slip from this Earthly atmosphere.

Live your life with purpose. Create your Masterpiece. You wouldn’t want to disappoint your great-grandchildren’s children would you?

Personal Style – Born or Learned?

Recently, I read a piece of news about David Beckham on VOGUE. In the article, Beckham admitted that he remembers some of his previous fashion choices with a sense of trepidation. Although Beckham mentioned that he does not have any regrets, he can’t believed that he had actually chosen to wear certain apparels before.

I believed many of us can relate well to Beckham’s past experiences with his fashion choices. Looking back at old photographs, we may wonder to ourselves, “What were we thinking?”

The above illustration is a good indication that one’s personal style is capable of evolving over time. Such changes can be affected by many factors such as fashion trends as portrayed in the media, peer influences, personal creativity and even one’s occupation. So if you feel that you are stuck in a style rut because you are born without any sense of style, think again.

Take for example you are indeed “born” with a poor sense of style. Such a situation can readily be solved if you make the effort to upgrade your knowledge in this arena. One way to do so is to be very open with experimenting with different apparels and finding out what you look good and feel comfortable with. If you cannot trust your own opinion, go shopping with friends and family who are interested in fashion or engage a Style Coach/Personal Shopper to give you professional advice on what fits you best in relation to your body shape and lifestyle needs. Draw inspiration from people (e.g. celebrities) whose fashion style you admire. Learn to visualize (i.e. see in your mind’s eyes) how you want to look for an event or occasion and works toward achieving it. This is very much like how many of us work towards achieving the look we wanted for a school prom when we were still in school. It will also help to take some time to assess your wardrobe and pull out items that are out of date or which you never wear anymore due to factors such as lifestyle changes and age. Replace these items with apparel and accessories that are compatible with your current situations.

Always remember and have faith that achieving a great personal style is not an not achievable feat. Help in this area is always just around the corner if you are truly committed to finding your path to looking good and feeling great. Many a times, it is your willingness to change, strong determination and enthusiasm which will decides whether you can successfully create a great style which you can call your own.

Cheap Loans – Do’s and Don’ts For Finding a Cheap Loan You Can Rely On

If you see an advertisement for a cheap loan which seems too good to be true, it may well be. Here are some top tips for spotting the potential pitfalls of loan offers and finding the right cheap loan for you.

DO: Compare loans

Lenders often categorize their loan offers as excellent deals, when in fact you could do a lot better if you took the time to compare loans across a range of different providers before choosing one, supposedly ‘cheap’, loan.

DON’T: Mistake ‘typical APR’ for a fixed rate or average rate

APR is an acronym for ‘annual percentage rate’, meaning the interest rate for the whole year. It’s easy to make the mistake of assuming the ‘typical APR’ is the precise interest rate you will pay on your cheap loan. In fact, this term refers to the interest rate offered to at least 66 per cent of applicants for that particular loan. Due to your own personal circumstances and credit history, you may be offered a higher rate than the ‘typical APR’, or you might not be able to take out the loan you want at all.

DON’T: Ignore the other charges

While the ‘typical APR’ is a good place to start when searching for cheap loans, there are often other charges involved when taking out a loan, and you also need to consider payment protection insurance. Take all of these things into account when you compare loans and you will get a much clearer picture of what the different lenders are offering.

DO: Check your credit card report

Take a look at your credit card report before embarking on a cheap loan agreement. Your credit card report will reveal how you will look to lenders when applying for a loan. You will also benefit by seeing if there are any errors and correcting them before you make an application. This will give you the best possible chance of being approved for a cheap loan.

DON’T: Be taken in by ‘payment holidays’

Sometimes, lenders will offer a ‘payment holiday’ which allows you to start paying off the loan later, perhaps after three months, instead of having to start making payments straight away. Unless this is really necessary, it tends to be better to turn down this offer, because future repayments will become larger to compensate for this initial holiday, and your total amount payable will also be higher.

DO: Read the small print

Before entering into a loan agreement, you need to know exactly what you are signing up for, and banks are required to tell you all the important terms and conditions. You should read through these carefully and not be afraid to ask as many questions as you need, to help you understand exactly what your ‘cheap loan’ will mean for you.

DO: Look out for ‘delivery charges’

In order to secure your business, certain lenders offer a service where they can send a cheque straight to you by courier, or transfer the loan into your account instantly or by the end of the day. However, this will often mean you have to pay an extra ‘delivery charge’, so unless you really need the loan immediately it might be better to say ‘no’ and keep your ‘cheap loan’ as cheap as possible.

Christmas Gifts Of 2017 For Women: Jewelry

Tips And Tricks For Getting The Most Out Of Your Jewelry

School teaches you about science and math and social issues, but you rarely learn about anything else in today’s school system. That’s why most people need little articles like these that are full of tips to help them out for any particular topic. In this instance, we’ll go over some great tips you can use related to jewelry.

Rich and vibrant turquoise is one of the most popular stones available. It is one of the most popular gemstones for the month of December and is often thought to invite feelings of love, good luck, and happiness. This particular gemstone is also the traditional gifting stone to celebrate the 11th wedding anniversary.

Pearl jewelry is a wonderful and versatile addition to a wardrobe. Pearls can often be accented with sparkling stones, used as an accent on a metal chain, or be shaped in interesting ways- the classical white strand of perfect spheres is certainly not the only way to wear them. Try a pearl necklace with diamond separators!

Do not purchase any jewelry from retailers in China. This country is notorious for selling fake gemstone and metal jewelry. Oftentimes, the jewelry advertised as sterling silver with real turquoise is just a piece of metal sprayed in silver and the turquoise is a fake piece of plastic. Such vendors may accept returns, but the hassle of shipping it back at your own cost, is usually not worth it. Be aware of scams like this.

To open a jump link when making chain jewelry, hold the jump link steady with pliers your left hand, and grip the opposite side of the opening with pliers in your right. Gently twist your hands towards each other. This twisting action helps the jump ring maintain its circular shape without distortion, which will occur if you try to push the sides together without twisting.

When shopping for jewelry, keep in mind the “cost per use” factor. If you will only wear those gorgeous, diamond earrings a handful of times, calculate how much money you are paying for each time you wear them. Pieces that you wear daily — like your wedding ring — are worth spending more money on, because your cost per use will be lower, and they will see more wear and tear.

Christmas

If you are shopping for seasonal brooches, try to buy them out of the season. By buying Christmas presents, valentine’s day brooches or Easter brooches out of the season, you can usually save a lot of money and acquire a quality piece of jewelry. So, if you are looking for a Christmas tree brooch or a snowman brooch, try to buy it in July. The best Christmas gifts of 2017 will definitely be jewelry

If you are in the market for a piece of jewelry you can realize significant savings by waiting for the right time of year to buy. Christmas and Valentine’s day are especially busy times of the year for jewelers, and they may be less likely to negotiate during these times of year.

Gifts

One thoughtful way to increase the impact of jewelry given as gifts is to coordinate jewelry given over time. A series of gifts, each of which matches previous pieces given, shows thoughtfulness and taste that is sure to be appreciated by the recipient. Building a matching set of jewelry through multiple gifts demonstrates a commitment to the relationship between giver and receiver.

If you are showering a woman with gifts on a regular basis, make sure that the jewelry items you are giving her are spaced out. If you fail to leave enough room in between each jewelry gift, she may get used to it and expect jewelry on a regular basis.

Jewelry is often very difficult to purchase for a friend or loved one because there are as many different styles and types of jewelry as there are people to wear it. Bracelets are a great solution for many and are available in a huge variety of styles made for the most fancy occasions to casual every-day wear. Plain silver and gold bangles are a staple for most women, but charm or sliding-bead style bracelets offer the buyer and the wearer the ability to completely customize the bracelet, as well as give the presenter a whole host of additional gifts to give in the future with the purchase of more charms or beads.

Jewelry is one of the best gifts to give to someone you care about. When purchasing jewelry as a gift, you should consider the person’s interests and lifestyle. For example, if they enjoy sports and the outdoors they may prefer more basic pieces. Think about what they enjoy doing, this should provide a good starting point when you are ready to purchase the jewelry.

When making or gifting jewelry, make each piece even more meaningful by selecting stones, beads, and colors that communicate different emotions. Green gems like jade and emeralds represent growth and vitality, which makes them ideal gifts for expectant mothers, newlyweds, or perhaps friends who are especially active in Eco-friendly lifestyles and initiatives.

Give the gift of relationship-appropriate jewelry. Jewelry gifts have a lot of potential for being misunderstood, so take stock of your relationship’s status and give jewelry that works for where the two of you are, not where you would like your relationship to be. Always check on the return policy and keep your receipt.

One of the biggest reasons that you need some great jewelry tips is that gold and jewels are items worth a lot of money. You need to protect your investment, and it doesn’t matter whether you’re buying, selling or storing your pieces of jewelry. Apply these tips and take care of your jewelry.

Is There a Travel Consultant on Your Team?

OK, I have to admit… I book my own travel. I’ve been vacillating back and forth for months and months on whether to add a travel agent (aka travel consultant) to my team of experts that help make my life easier and I just haven’t done it yet. Now don’t get too impressed that I have a ‘team of experts’ – the list is short. It includes the lawn guy who’s also now the pest control guy, the maid, my hair stylist, my all-important driver to and from the airport, and that’s about it. But they’re all people who can save me time, save me money and can make recommendations based on their experience with me and my preferences. Hmmm… sounds like a travel consultant also.

So to help me make my decision, I thought I’d pretend that you’re asking me questions and I’m giving you the answers. It makes the writing so more interesting than just talking to myself.

Q: So why in these days on online booking of everything should I use the services of a travel consultant?

A: Online booking of travel may be the best way to go if you have a simple flight to book, have no long list of special needs, and know what you’re doing. I like to go to Travelocity or Expedia and search out my options and prices, but then I book my ticket on the airline’s direct site. I just trust that if I have any issue with my ticket that their airline will be more helpful to me.

I’ve only ever booked a ticket on one of these online sites when I needed a flight that had one airline on the outbound and another airline on the return.

Because I routinely fly to the same city, I just jump on that airline’s site and can have a ticket booked within seconds. But when my husband and I are both flying and we’re originating in different, then a travel consultant makes much more sense. I spend an excessive amount of time searching multiple airline sites trying to get us to arrive and depart at somewhat the same time.

If you have special needs (allergic to peanuts, pets, people, etc.), then a travel consultant can help ensure that your seats and/or flights are suitable for you. If you’re traveling internationally and are concerned with connecting flights, tight connections, passport or health requirements, go to the expert on your team.

Q: What can a travel consultant really do that I can’t do myself?

A: Besides what I just mentioned above, they can also:

Scout out lower prices than you may be able to find.

Help you with recommendations and prices on cruise bookings and most other forms of travel packages (guided tours, all-inclusive resorts, safaris, etc.) based on YOUR needs and desires.

Keep you in the know about luggage fees, luggage limits, TSA, travel rules in other countries, best times to travel based on weather and more.

Help resolve travel issues (cancelled flights, oversold hotels) and complex travel itineraries.

All with personal service and expert knowledge.

Q: What does a travel consultant charge to use their services?

A: The fee depends on the consultant. While some of the more luxury agencies have higher fees, the average fee is quite marginal. Some travel consultants will even drop the fee or offer a discount once you have finalized your trip with them. Plus, you can always ask an consultant upfront what their fees are and decide for yourself if it’s worth it. Your time is valuable also… so consider the value of the hours that you’re searching for your own travel and the fee for the travel consultant then looks very reasonable.

Q: So what are the requirements for a travel consultant to become part of your ‘team of experts’?

A: Just a few minor requirements to fulfill:

  • They recognize who I am when I call and say “Hi, it’s Carol.” I do not want an agency where I speak to someone different each time I call.
  • They know my preferences and my type of travel. When I say “Bruce and I both want to get to New York City around 6pm on a Thursday,” they’ll know to put me on Continental, him on Delta, and get us both aisle seats (exit row for me, any row with a power outlet for him).
  • They know our 1,000 places to see before we die, know where we’ve already been, and call us when they see a great deal to a place we’ve yet to go.
  • They book our cruises and our hotels and airfare. No more cruise-only people that leave the rest up to us.
  • They provide recommendations for places to see, things to do, restaurants, etc. because they’ve already been there!
  • If they’re not an expert in a certain area, such as finding us a house to rent in Santorini, they’ll find someone who is.
  • They offer reasonable fees and throw in a freebie now and then because we use them so much (is that too much to ask??).

Q: So are you still going to book all of your own travel?

A: Heck no! I’ll take resumes starting today from any travel consultant who can meet my requirements! — I’m interviewing!

Home Furniture Is Not Only A Necessity, It’s A Joy To Select And Purchase

Your really cant say a house is a home, not until you have the decor you want and the home furniture you want. A house is essentially a box made up of rooms of various types and sizes. To make a house a home we invest time, effort and money in selecting the perfect furniture. Whatever your families needs, you will select the furniture that best fits those needs. Some of the family needs will not change over the years, and in that respect, some of the furniture needn’t change.

It may seem strange in today’s throw away, disposable society that anyone would consider buying key pieces of home furniture with a view to that furniture lasting a lifetime. Its anathema to some people buying anything that lasts more than a year or two when you are talking home furniture. Many of us though do consider buying some main pieces of furniture for our homes that will give us many happy years of use. It makes sense to have some quality furniture in our home; it can become an heirloom you want to pass down.

As consumers, we tend to look for affordable things. Sometimes if its very affordable, i.e. cheap, it is virtually disposable. Cheap and cheerful has its place but quality, beauty and a heftier price tag also has its place, especially when you are talking about home furniture. There are some things you really shouldn’t compromise on concerning quality and possibly price and the things we choose for home furniture is a perfect example. Great quality, good looking, fun and functional home furniture needn’t cost the earth.

So is it worth investing in some high quality home furniture? The answer is undoubtedly yes. Imagine sitting at a dining table with your grandchildren maybe they are drawing or doing homework. Now imagine that your own children sat at the very same table doing the self same things. That is priceless and its something that many of us would love. The continuity that a good piece of home furniture can give cannot be underestimated.

You don’t have to fill your home with long lasting, potential heirloom pieces of home furniture; many of us couldn’t meet the cost of that. What we tend to do is buy a few bits of high quality furniture like the dining table or even a simple bookcase. Long lasting memories are formed of happy times and home furniture can play a part in making those memories. How many of us have had fabulous nights entertaining around a dining table, and we remember it for years to come. If we hang onto the table, the memories remain even longer after the event as we have a reminder of that time in our home.

Benefits of Self Planned Travel

The advent of the internet has really speed up and made self-planned travel more pervasive and easier. These days, travel destination, airlines, hotels, car-rental companies and others advertise their product more aggressively and allow the individual travelers to self-plan their own travels. It is an exciting new way to travel that appeals to more and more people.

The most obvious benefit here is the flexibility in the self-planned travel holidays. With this form of travel, you can customize the self-planned travel right down to the last minute details. Things and sights that travel agents avoid can now be included in the program, allowing travelers to be more targeted in their travel objectives. Travelers can take up more unconventional destinations and activities and include these into their plans. The weirdest combinations are now possible. You can plan a wine tasting tour together with a skiing tour now. Many people interested in this form of self-planned travels, see this flexibility as a great asset.

Secondly, with the internet, choices become more varied for the self-planned traveler. Through the internet, travelers actually can have more options for flights, hotel, transport, activities and so forth. Very often, these companies are willing to offer personalize service to secure the business of these form of travelers.

The varied choices in travel products and services also mean that there is a high chance of getting the lowest price for the products or service. For example, airlines charge different rates to fly to the same destinations. For the budget conscious self-plan traveler, this lower price range is an important factor. And very often, the travel companies know this price competition is around and are willing to lower their prices or offer special discounts to travelers, resulting in travelers getting higher class products at lower cost.

Very often, self-planned travel involve a fair bit of self-drive vacationing. This offers the travelers a great way to alter or change their travel plans at will. If a town appears interesting and full of excitement, travelers might just extend their stay. If someone mention that just a couple of hundred miles down the road is an exciting place of interest, the travelers might just change their original plan and head for this new place of interest. This form of positive change makes the entire self-planned travel program more meaningful.

Next, the group size of the self-planned travel can now be up to the traveling group. There is no more such thing as a minimum size group to travel. Small groups are also very possible for people to travel in.

Another key benefit is the improved cultural exchange between the self-planned travelers and the locals. In group tours, extended mingling with the locals are often difficult as time is limited. People are always rushing from destination to destination. But in a self-planned travel program, travelers can afford to spend more time interacting with the local population, thus gaining more insight into the community. Self-planned travels are often repeated because strong ties are established in previous trips.

Traveling in this form of self-planned travel is indeed gaining popularity as the benefits are substantial, especially with the flexibility, ease of planning and also the cultural exchange. But before anyone head into any self-planned travel, it is important to consider some detail planning first.
